Dear Friends and Levitt Patrons,Given the ongoing uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and out of great concern for the health, safety and well-being of our community, Levitt at the Falls has made the difficult decision to cancel the remaining concerts scheduled for August and September of 2020 at the Levitt Shell. This decision did not come easily, as it impacts many people in our community, including our dedicated staff and crew, artists, community partners, volunteers, vendors and sponsors, in addition to the tens of thousands of friends, families and neighbors who enjoyed free Levitt at the Falls concerts in 2019. Our board’s decision was guided by a commitment to the health of our patrons and community, but was impacted by multiple factors including: the difficulty of implementing social distancing with large crowds in an open access venue, lost artist routing opportunities with so many cancelled festivals around the nation, and the high cost of mitigation efforts and potential last-minute cancellations due to the pandemic. The Levitt at the Falls mission is to build community through music, and we will continue to do that with flexibility and creativity. Our 2020 season, sponsored by Sanford Health, may look different, but we will continue to bring music to our community because we are committed to helping to revitalize our city at this most challenging time. Our plans for the future include:Levitt In Your Neighborhood – This program will bring small pop-up concerts to neighborhoods throughout our community. These intimate outdoor events will feature artists that represent a diverse selection of genres and styles from the very best of our local music scene. As we enter the fall, this effort will expand to include artists from out of state with multiple day artist-in-residency programs in schools, healthcare facilities, and other community venues.Levitt In Your Living Room – Since premiering our first episode in June, thousands of households have enjoyed our new weekly digital program “Levitt In Your Living Room” featuring interviews and original music by favorite local artists KORY and the FIREFLIES, Brulé and Burlap Wolf King and artists new to our community like Gina Chavez and Jackie Venson. Our popular digital broadcast airs on Facebook Live each Saturday at 7pm, and is then available for streaming on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram (IGTV). Levitt In Your Living Room will continue weekly through mid-August and will then be available once a month through February of 2021.Stay tuned to Levitt at the Falls on Facebook and Instagram, as we spotlight the community, post live stream programs, and share updates about our organization. We look forward to when we can all once again come together for Levitt concerts and experience the joy of free, live music under the stars. Until then, your ongoing support of the Levitt at the Falls is deeply appreciated as we continue our mission of building community through music. |
