Out of concern for the health, safety and well-being of our community during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Levitt Board of Directors has decided to put our outdoor concert series on hold for June and July. In the meantime, we are excited to be announcing alternative programming that will create new avenues to build our community through music. This will allow us to continue to fulfill our mission while staying flexible and responsive as restrictions on large gatherings are eased, so that we can be back out on the lawn with live concerts as soon as possible.
First, are excited to announce Levitt in Your Living Room, a new digital series launching in mid-May. Levitt in Your Living Room will be a weekly webcast featuring performances and exclusive interviews with the same quality and diversity of artists you’ve come to expect from Levitt at the Falls. It will be a way to get to know some of your favorite artists more intimately and introduce you to other emerging local, national, and international musicians while sharing a behind-the-scenes look at their creative process.
Second, beginning this fall, Levitt at the Falls will launch Levitt in Your Neighborhood, a community artist residency program to bring music to smaller groups in our community in partnership with local organizations and schools. We look forward to connecting our amazing artist roster to an even larger cross-section of our community through these special events once we can gather again safely in smaller groups.
And, finally, when gathering restrictions are somewhat eased, the Levitt at the Falls team is hopeful that we will be together for concerts in the late summer or fall. This may be on the on the lawn or may even be as a drive-in concert. No matter the format or location, Levitt at the Falls remains committed to keeping our mission alive and bringing music to our community. Join our email list and follow us on social media via Facebook and Instagram to receive updates and stay informed.
We are incredibly grateful to our donors, sponsors, and supporters who have vowed their continued commitment to the Levitt as we weather this difficult time and look forward to future free concerts. We are with you, Sioux Falls, and will be here to provide opportunities to build community through music for many years into the future. Stay well!
