Since his youth, Ugandan musician and educator Chinobay has captivated audiences with African rhythms and melodies that emanate both from the diversity of his customized traditional instruments and from his travels throughout the continent. With soothing, pulsing, meditative, and at times invigorating textures, his music deftly mixes the original and the traditional. Chinobay’s performance is part of the African Music Day at the Levitt on Saturday, August 5th and is presented in collaboration with the Kunama Cultural Festival.
