Join us for our next Music Maker Mixer panel discussion on Music Recording featuring Frank Cook from Augustana Multimedia Entrepreneurship Program,  veteran musician Jeremy Hegg, and CatHouse Studios owner/producer Mike Dresch. These experienced presenters will share their expertise and insights into the world of music recording. Whether you’re a budding musician or a seasoned producer, don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn from industry experts.

  • 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. — Social Time with treats and live music by Arlinda Peacock
  • 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. — Presentation and Q&A

Meet the Presenters:

Frank Cook

Frank D. Cook is the Director of Multimedia Entrepreneurship and Innovative Practices at Augustana University, the President of NextPoint Training, Inc., and an Avid Master Instructor. At Augustana, he shapes curriculum and provides strategic direction for the Multimedia Entrepreneurship program. He also teaches classes in media technology, including upper division Pro Tools and Dolby Atmos courses for professional certification. Cook’s expertise extends globally, as he trains educators aspiring to become Avid Certified Instructors. Cook is a musician, author, educator, and entrepreneur. He has been a consultant for Avid Technology for the past 20 years — helping to shape learning initiatives and develop textbooks and exams for Avid’s official training and certification programs.

Jeremy Hegg

Jeremy Hegg, born and raised in the area, holds a music performance degree from Augustana, where he honed his skills as a pianist and composer. You have seen him performing in the region as a part of the Hegg Brothers with his brother, Jon, as well as in Spooncat! Jeremy has served as a staff arranger and composer for the Augustana Brass Choir, Sioux Falls Municipal Band, and various marching band programs nationwide. He has performed extensively across the country and Europe with artists ranging from Smokey Robinson to Chuck Berry. With his wealth of performance experience, numerous album recordings, and musical prowess, Jeremy brings a unique perspective to the world of music recording.

Mike Dresch

Mike Dresch is the owner and engineer/producer of Cathouse Studios, a hub for music creation in Sioux Falls from 2000 to 2020. With a portfolio boasting over 10,000 songs recorded, mixed, or mastered, Mike’s work spans local, regional, and national projects, including releases on major labels. Inducted into the South Dakota Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, his studio became a cornerstone of the music scene. From underground acts to established names, Mike’s expertise and dedication left an indelible mark on the industry, earning him the respect of peers and musicians alike.

Meet the Artist:

Arlinda Peacock is an original musician specializing in indie, soul, R&B, and rap. Singing and songwriting have been a therapeutic and healing journey for her.
