Faytinga
The Kunama Cultural Festival Band is a gathering of prominent and rising Kunama musicians from throughout the region. A live band featuring guitar, keyboard, and abangala (a banjo-like traditional instrument) and 6 featured singers will present Kunama music. Dancers will join the band throughout the event to share traditional Kunama dance. The Kunama Cultural Festival Band will include members from the Sioux Falls-based Siyaba band and the Des Moines-based Nimena band. Internationally-renowned vocalist Faytinga will be featured, along with other Kunama singers from the region. Faytinga is prominent African musician who has been performing around the world representing Eritrea as a cultural ambassador for her country. She is coming from her home in France to be part of the Sioux Falls-based Kunama Cultural Festival. Other featured singers include: Shega, Nimeri Shega, Shamba, and Kini. kobabalafardakunamasi.org
